Kuwait Drilling Company KSC was established in 1963 as a joint venture between Santa Fe International Corporation USA, with a 49% holding, and a consortium of Kuwaiti businessmen with 51%. Today KDC is a subsidiary of the Contracting and Marine Services Company KSC. Though Santa Fe's share is now held by Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), the state owned entity that controls all hydrocarbon activities in the State Of Kuwait, we are continuing to build on its legacy.
The involvement of Santa Fe in the establishment of KDC
provided us with access to highly-experienced rig crews and advanced technical
know-how when we commenced operations in 1965. This ability to harness external
expertise was reinforced when we entered into a technical services agreement
with Parker Drilling Company of the USA.
Since 1965 KDC has drilled more than
1,400 wells on behalf of Kuwait Oil Company, the KPC-owned company that
undertakes all exploration and extraction activities in Kuwait, and Joint
Operations, the Kuwait-Saudi entity that controls all oil gas activities in the
Divided Zone between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Our experience encompasses a wide variety of vertical, horizontal and deviated well drilling assignments to depths ranging from 4,700 to 22,235 feet. Our expertise covers drilling for exploration, development and work-over purposes, and includes mobile rig operations, deep test drilling for natural gas, and off-shore jack-up rigs. Currently we are expanding our modern fleet of 750 to 3000hp shallow drilling and work-over, intermediate and deep drilling rigs to service the ever-expanding scale of our operations.

deep customer satisfaction.
