At KDC we are aware that the most important criteria in ensuring that our
customers are wholly satisfied is to make sure that every drilling assignment
we undertake is executed to the highest international quality standards.
To achieve superior levels of performance we operate in conformity with quality
control assurance programmes specifically designed for each project. These
programmes define performance criteria and assign responsibilities, targets,
methods, procedures and tasks to all the personnel involved in the execution of
a drilling assignment.
While we measure overall performance in general terms against safety
statistics, profits and customer satisfaction, we measure quality in all
departments using a range of positive performance indicators. For operations,
these indicators include operational costs and downtime. KDC's Rig of the
month and Rig of the Year Awards are presented to the rigs
that achieve certain performance criteria, including standards relating to
cost, safety, maintenance, house-keeping and professionalism.
Our quality assurance programs are highly effective. We measure our
achievements against bench-marks derived from performance and incident
statistics for our industry. In recent years our performance has been
consistently well ahead of the industry and very competitive by Middle Eastern
and international standards.
